We converted our property in 2012 and installed a second-hand Read plant ourselves, this has given us trouble-free running since then. We had previously purchased the plant in 2008, it must have been 20-30 years old already. The plant is serviced regularly and the pulsators have never been a problem in eight years of running. I highly recommend the Read plant and am very impressed with the slide pulsators.
The pulsators they give an even and consistent pulse to the cup’s day after day. Last season our Sharemilkers averaged 41,000 SCC. Achieving the lowest somatic cell count in Southland for the season and 5th lowest in New Zealand for Fonterra suppliers. While our Sharemilkers have outstanding performance in this area the plant also plays a vital role in achieving good SCC.
